In the next couple weeks, while I find the time, I will be uploading programs that I have found of particular use over the past 14 years that I have been working on computers.
The programs that I add for download will be free to use and free to download.
I will not clutter up the Downloads page with useless programs but will only put up programs that I have used myself and have found particularly useful. These programs will range from Windows Tweak Tools to Antispyware tools with other useful tidbits in between.
The first of my two additions are CCleaner, which has been popular for years as a great registry cleaner and also junk file cleaner. Junk files include temporary files (temp files), temporary internet files, history, recently used, recycle bin, etc. Basically files that “junk” up a computer and use up valuable space. In my years of working on pcs the largest removal of “junk” files has been over 9GB!
The second file I uploaded is Dial-a-Fix. Now don’t let the name throw you off, It actually made me avoid the program for a while before giving it a shot as I thought it had solely to do with Dialup Networking or something of that nature. Man was I wrong.
Dial-A-Fix is one of the best repair programs that I have ran across period. Dial-A-Fix makes what used to be a bunch of separate tweaks and fixes into a easy to use program. Dial-A-Fix repairs things like Windows Update, uninstalling / repairing Internet Explorer, SSL and Cryptography Services.
It also includes a simple to use policy scanner that scans commonly disabled policies like disabled desktop, disabled active desktop, disabled task manager, disabled regedit (built in windows registry editor) and more. It does this last step better than any other program I have used…and I have used plenty. I used to have to go in and manually repair the registry but Dial-A-Fix has saved me many o’ headache in that area.
Both of these programs are “must-haves”.

***A quick note on Dial-A-Fix for Vista users. Currently there is no version of Dial-A-Fix for Vista. The author of the program said that he would pretty much have to rebuild Dial a Fix from the ground up to work in Windows Vista and as he has currently switched careers he doesn’t have the time redo it from scratch. Here is a link to the author’s site.
